Tim McGraw Refuses To Get Involved In Country Music Culture Wars – ‘I Stand For What I Stand For’

Over the past few weeks, the country music world has been dominated by anti-woke anthems like Jason Aldean’s “Try That In A Small Town,” John Rich’s “I’m Offended,” and most recently, Oliver Anthony’s “Rich Men North Of Richmond.”

Though this kind of anti-woke music is clearly what fans want to listen to right now, the country music star Tim McGraw is defiantly refusing to get involved in any kind of culture wars with his songs.

‘I Stand For What I Stand For’

When asked about the current country music culture wars, McGraw told USA Today, “I only pay attention to the kind of music I make. I let the songs I record speak for themselves.”

“I stand for what I stand for and that’s all out there,” he added.

McGraw went on to say that he is not sure what politically charged songs mean for the future of country music.

“I just try to stay consistent in what I do,” he said.

McGraw’s Political Views

While McGraw tries to stay quiet about politics, he’s let his political views be known at times over the years. Back in 2008, he described himself as a “blue-dog Democrat” and proudly declared that he and his wife Faith Hill were supporters of Barack Obama.

“It’s innate in me to be a blue-dog Democrat,” he told People Magazine at the time. “I’m not saying I’m right or wrong, but that’s what I am. My wife and I and our family will do everything we can to support Obama. I like his ideas, I like his energy, and I like the statement he would make for our country to the world.”

In 2017, McGraw called for stricter gun control measures to be put in place in this country.

“There is some common sense that’s necessary when it comes to gun control,” he told Billboard. “They want to make it about the Second Amendment every time it’s brought up. It’s not about the Second Amendment . . . Military weapons should not be in the hands of civilians.”

McGraw was also frequently critical of Donald Trump during his presidency, according to Fox News.

“We all should reassess what we think and believe constantly – in politics, in life, and in our thinking.

Otherwise we get too rigid.”

John Rich’s Conservative Songs

When it comes to the country music culture wars, proud conservative John Rich is taking the opposite approach. His album “The Country Truth” is currently the top country music album in the country, and it includes such tracks as “I’m Offended,” “Progress” and “Shut up About Politics.”

“People are waking up to the fact that what they thought was true is probably not,” Rich recently told Fox News. “So when songs come out that actually speak the truth – they’re not a marketing angle, it’s not somebody came up with something at a big company and tried to hoist it upon the American listener – when it’s real music set in a real way from a real place in somebody’s heart. Well, brother, that’s called the truth.”

“And the truth cannot be stopped, and so when people are exposed to truth after being lied to for so long, they respond en masse,” he added. “That’s why I think you see all these songs at the top of the charts.”

It should be noted that the vast majority of music, movies, and television are constantly preaching liberal politics, so it’s refreshing to millions of conservatives to finally get some political entertainment that they can actually relate to.
